Best Restaurants by the Eiffel Tower

If you’re planning a day (or evening) to visit France’s most iconic sight, then I highly recommend a fun and tasty add-on: enjoying a delicious meal in one of the many wonderful restaurants by the Eiffel Tower.

Whether you choose to dine before or after your sightseeing, in the morning sunshine or under the glittering stars, these restaurants by the Eiffel Tower all offer amazing food, unique ambience, and easy access to or from the Iron Lady.

I can help you create a complete experience that you’ll be talking about for years to come!

Here are some of my favorites:

La Fontaine de Mars

A French chicken dish with a side of potatoes au gratin. Served at La Fontain de Mars, near the Eiffel Tower.

Many of my clients have reported that eating at La Fontaine de Mars was the best meal of their entire trip. It’s one of my favorite places as well.

Located in a quaint square by the fountain where this brasserie gets its name, La Fontaine de Mars is located just steps away from the Tower. It’s been around for over 30 years, and from the striped awnings to the red-checkered tablecloths, this place is a Parisian dream. With a wide range of small and large plates to choose from, La Fontaine makes an excellent choice for a quick bite or an all-out celebration.

Insider tip: The chicken with morels and the cassoulet are the signature dishes. Entrees start from €13, with daily special plates for €25.

Hours: Daily 12:00 – 3:00 PM and 7:30 – 11:00 PM
Reservations: Highly recommended, Reserve online or call +33(0)1 47 05 46 44
Address: 129 rue Saint Dominique, 75007 Paris France

Les Ombres

The entrance to the restaurant Les Ombres, with the Eiffel Tower visible to the side.

Sitting literally in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower, Les Ombres is the epitome of modern sophistication. Located on the rooftop of the Musée du quai Branly – Jacques Chirac and surrounded by wall-to-wall glass, this restaurant offers breathtaking views all around.

In the evening, the ceiling transforms into a starry sky every hour, a sparkling reflection of its glorious neighbor.

Insider tip: The cuisine here is Mediterranean-inspired, with typically smaller and exquisitely-plated dishes. The olive oil ice cream is surprisingly delightful. Set meals start at €58/pp for lunch, then €88-€188 for 5-, 6-, or 7-course dinners, with excellent optional wine pairings.

Hours: Daily 12:00 – 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Reservations: Highly recommended, Reserve online

Distance from the Eiffel Tower: 0.3 miles

Le Jules Verne

This is perfect if you’re looking to go all-out! Perched 410 feet up, Le Jules Verne is the legendary Michelin-rated restaurant inside the Eiffel Tower, with stunning views of the surrounding city.

Insider tip: You’ll definitely need reservations here! 5- or 7-course tasting menus start at €255, plus optional wine pairings.

Hours: Daily 12:00- 1:30 PM and 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Reservations: Highly recommended, Reserve online
Address: Avenue Gustave Eiffel Eiffel Tower – 2nd floor, 75007 Paris France
Distance from the Eiffel Tower: It’s right there!

Cassie’s Tip: If you want the inside-the-tower feeling with a slightly lower price tag, try the Madame Brasserie for lunch — just one floor down, with a menu by Michelin-starred chef Thierry Marx.

Café du Marché

A dish with the classic Salad Chevre Chaud inside. Served at Cafe du Marche on Rue Cler, near the Eiffel Tower.

This is one of my favorite casual eateries on the pedestrian-only market street in the nearby Rue Cler neighborhood. Café du Marché (no website) has a big menu, and unlike many restaurants by the Eiffel Tower, you can usually get a table without a reservation.

You’ll notice immediately the prime corner location of the restaurant’s outdoor tables with chairs facing the street activity — excellent food plus awesome people-watching!

The blackboard menu features daily specials (and classic favorites) prepared with quality ingredients at reasonable prices. I’ve eaten here many, many times over the years, and I’ve never had a bad meal.

Insider tip: If it’s available that day, try the simple but delicious Chevre Chaud Salad (pictured) — it’s a salad with warm goat cheese on toast. For something more familiar, the burgers are excellent, too.

La Terrasse du 7eme

A sprawling patio terrace featuring plenty of tables and seating for people dining at La Terrasse du 7 eme restaurant near the Eiffel Tower.

Another casual favorite, La Terrasse du 7eme offers a cozy, homey feel that is still pure Parisian style and grace. There’s lots of seating, and the ambiance is fresh, light, and welcoming.

Insider tip: There are so many tasty things to choose from, with entrees in the €20-€40 range, and wonderful daily special plates. This is a wonderful place to catch lunch with kids.

Hours: Daily, non-stop service from 7:00 AM – 2:00 AM
Reservations: Recommended during peak periods, but there’s lots of seating, Reserve online
Address: 2 Place de l Ecole Militaire, 75007 Paris France

L’Ami Jean

The exterior of restaurant Chez L'Ami Jean before it opens for dinner.

Offering a range of Basque specialties, L’Ami Jean is on a lot of “Best Restaurant” lists for a good reason. Drawing from the cultural influence of northeastern Spain and southwestern France, this cuisine features meat and fish braised over hot coals, tomatoes and peppers, and a touch of spice.

Insider tip: This is a foodie paradise, with traditional cuisine served in a classic, unfussy style. Make sure you reserve well ahead (I can help you with this, of course!), and if you go at peak times, expect it to be packed.

Hours: Tuesday-Friday 12:00 – 2:00 PM and 6:30 – 11:00 PM, Saturday 12:00 – 2:00 PM
Reservations: Highly recommended, Reserve online or call +33 1 47 05 86 89
Address: 27 rue Malar, 75007 Paris France

Crep’ and Tea

The exterior of a casual restaurant near the Eiffel Tower, Crep' and Tea.

For simple, inexpensive, and mouthwatering crepes, then Crep’ and Tea is the place to be. With dishes that range from just €11-€20, you can enjoy a huge variety of authentic savory or sweet crepes.

Insider tip: If you’ve only ever had sweet crepes, you’ll be surprised at how tasty and satisfying a savory crepe can be, especially after a long day of sightseeing. This quaint place is also known for its delicious cider.

Hours: Daily 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM
Reservations: none
Address: 139 rue Saint Dominique, 75007 Paris France
Distance from the Eiffel Tower: 0.3 miles

Don’t forget the picnic option for dining al fresco!

Couples having a picnic on the grass in front of the Eiffel Tower. This grassy area is the Champ de Mars park and is ideal fo a picnic lunch near the Eiffel Tower.

If you want to keep it breezy, another great option is a picnic in the park at the base of the Eiffel (Champ de Mars).

You can easily pick up items from the Rue Cler market street shops or from grocery stores near the metro stations at Ecole Militaire (Carrefour City) and Bir-Hakeim (Franprix). This is also perfect for a snack and a recharge if you’ve been doing a lot of walking or if you have little ones who need to burn off some energy.
